Create bright accents in the interior

Any setting needs special zones in which people will focus their attention. Without bright spots even the refined interior picture looks too boring. Accent areas are made to achieve two effects:

  • To divert attention from the shortcomings of the room and focus it on the merits;
  • Create reference points for the "hold" look.

Continuous space is always visually perceived difficult. The feeling of a faceless, monophonic composition brings boredom. To focus on the individual details of the interior in several ways:

  • Light accents. Spectacular lighting gently show where the most important areas;
  • Color. Using combinations of a number of principles, they create a background and bright spots on it;
  • Unusual forms. Sharp angles in the “smooth” interior will attract the eye, as contrast elements are created, knocking out of the overall stylistic picture;
  • Invoice. Relief is perhaps the most organic way to create a moderate accent zone.

Color highlighting is considered the most difficult. The reason for this was a special "power" shades over the human subconscious. Carefully and imperceptibly, a palette of colors can control your mood and desires. It is not surprising that black and white kitchens lose appetite, and you want to escape from the living rooms in brown and red colors with yellow. Let's talk about the concept of color combinations.

Accents in the interior: choose the color

Under the color accents imply elements of the design pattern, which are knocked out of the overall design palette. Most often, decor plays their role, but sometimes full-fledged furnishings can attract attention. The choice of a palette of colors depends not only on the desires of the owners, but also on the size of the room, the features of the lighting, the stylistic decision. The latter should be taken into account, if not a potpourri of directions is used, but a specific style with its characteristic features and frames. So, in minimalism on a black and white with a gray background, accents are chosen according to the principle of “neutral interior”. Absolutely any tone made on a light canvas setting will be noticeable and bright. In Provence, where snow-white floors are combined with the same furniture, or in high-tech the colors of accents are chosen according to the same principle. In the darker shades of classic style or art deco with the play of tones, it is recommended to be careful, because such an interior will not endure everything. If you are sure of the impeccability of your taste, then the color combinations can be selected intuitively. However, it is still recommended to use one of the generally accepted schemes. Each is based on a certain principle.

With regard to the compatibility of color solutions with the dimensions of the room, it is not recommended to overload with dark accents small rooms. In small spaces use interiors in light colors (more snow-white and pastel shades). In order to visually add room extra meters, emphasis should be made on the principle of light color transitions, not contrasting borders.

Scheme "warm-cold"

Depending on the person’s psychological perception, colors are divided into cold and warm. The first is blue, green, purple, turquoise, lilac and blue, and the second is red, yellow, orange, pink. The principle is based on the color combination in contrast. For example, all the decoration of the room is made out in shades of one "temperature". Focus on the details that are made in tones that are on the other side of the conventional axis of the color spectrum. The shading picture is organic and balanced, since the opposite colors complement each other.

“Additional” scheme

The principle of addition assumes use in an interior of pair of the main shades. To one of them add that contrasting tone, which is directly opposite on the spectral circle. For example, pink and orange shades prevail in the interior; accent blue or blue is added to balance and dilute them. If the situation is drawn by “cold” (blue, purple), then the details are made out in shades of brown or gold with yellowness. Such a color scheme brightly and slightly aggressively decorates the interior, so it is not recommended to be used in rest rooms: nursery, bedroom.

Scheme "Similar"

This principle of combination is distinguished by tranquility and relative neutrality. The color temperature of the room remains almost unchanged, since the nearest “neighbor” in the spectrum is chosen for the main or additional shade. Borders of the background and accent zones will have a transitional character, instead of sharp contrasts. Recommend in a similar manner to make out bedrooms and rooms for rest.

Accents in a neutral interior

If the color scheme of the room consists of brown, black, white, gray, beige shades, then you can safely enter accents of absolutely any tones of your choice. And not necessarily limited to only one option. It is permissible to use several colors, but only after a preliminary assessment of the tone congestion of the room. For example, in monochrome rooms you can safely add even two or three accents. In the interiors, where brown, beige, black and white are not already combined, it is not recommended to overload the atmosphere with a couple more additional shades.

Before you buy a decor carefully weigh the degree of compatibility of accents with each other. Perhaps one will be able to completely silence the second, thereby calling into question its use. It is desirable that both shades were of the same intensity.

How to keep balance

In order for the background and accents to be in harmony with each other, it is necessary to observe the norm of correlations. Such a rule of the "golden section", adapted for interior composition. The ratio concerns three colors:

MainIts percentage should not exceed the mark of 60.
SecondaryThis is not an accent, but only a supplement that helps to display the depth of the main color. It accounts for no more than 30% of the composition. Choose a color, as a rule, from the "neighbors" of the pitch in the spectrum.
AccentsBright spots in the interior should not occupy more than 10%, otherwise their overabundance will negatively affect the perception of the room.

This rule does not apply to all surfaces. Designers usually do not take into account the tree or its materials imitating. They are regarded as a neutral background. This is a classic wood of natural shades (oak, pine, wenge), and not about plastic panels, the surface of which repeats the texture of the original, but is painted in acid colors. The situation is similar with white, plastered ceilings and walls. They are simply thrown out of the color composition, since the solution of a “problem” with such a large neutral background will inevitably lead to incorrect results and a broken composition.

What can be used as a bright accent

In the role of accent are any objects of decor or basic furnishings. The interior picture is usually “ground” with the help of:

  • Textile. An option that allows you to focus not only at the expense of color or pattern, but also texture. The main advantage of the fabric is its replaceability. You can completely change the accents in the room, if the current already fed up. Fabrics allow, without prejudice to the wallet, to experiment even with those colors that quickly get bored;
  • Decor items. In their role can serve any interior object, the main purpose of which is to decorate a room;
  • Furnishings. With these objects and brightness, it is better to be careful, as these shades still recommend that they be strictly metered into the room. For this reason, a sofa for example, it is better to choose not entirely red, but with bright legs and armrests. The best is the use of modular furniture, where only certain parts of it are painted in bright colors;
  • Accent zones. Under this concept is usually meant the whole area, which is given to the "tearing" of the decorative elements. In the role of the accent zone can be a wall, a podium, a separate corner of the room.

In the living room, accents are mats, cushions, rugs, curtains, vases or caskets on shelves, lamps, chandeliers, and separate parts of coffee tables or shelves. In kitchens, the interior is polished by bright aprons, dishes, houseplants, tablecloths (for the dining area), curtains and table tops. In the bedroom, usually all the accents are centered on the wall at the head of the bed. As a result, it turns out that there are bright colors on the palette, but sleeping people do not notice them, which, accordingly, does not interfere with sleep. Also in this room use catchy curtains, pads, bedspreads. In the hallways are limited to a couple of paintings on the walls, a rug under the door and a bench for pereobuvaniya. In children's rooms, bright colors are used everywhere: the more colorful the situation (as part of the measure, of course), the more actively the child develops.

Conclusion

Bright accents are vital in the interior design of a city apartment or private house. It does not matter what type of housing you are and where it is located. If people spend time in it, then the situation should be cozy. And it is impossible to obtain it without observing the color balance (background accents).
