We arrange the interior of the entrance room

The passage room in the recent past was considered an example of an extremely unsuccessful plan - it is impossible to retire there, you have to be in full view. The "Khrushchev" of the functionalist era, with such uncomfortable rooms, even cost an order of magnitude less than with completely separate ones. In modern time there is a mass of original stylistic solutions for halls through which people constantly walk, taking into account their footage, the number of doors, the required functionality.

The passage hall in a panel or brick building can undergo a complete redevelopment or remain in its original form - at the request of the owners. In private two-three-storey houses, the design of the entrance room is complicated by the presence of stairs leading upward. Usually the living room is intended for joint pastime of the whole family, guests. In this case, the fact that it is “through” becomes a positive side.

Features of the planning room

Depending on the number of rooms of the apartment, in the entrance hall there are from two to four doors: from the corridor, to the kitchen, bedroom, dressing room, children's room. Doorways should not be cluttered - the message between the rooms should be free. A clear zoning makes sense only in large spaces - for the little ones, an open plan is suitable, in which a third of the wall or the whole wall is removed, forming a bedroom-living room or kitchen-living room. It is also possible to turn out from the hall in a cramped apartment, and a warmed balcony, a loggia, can be connected to the hall quite simply. Individual space is fenced off in the common room with a wardrobe, a screen, a rack, making up only a few square meters. In the presence of a walk-through room, the issue of complete redevelopment in a studio apartment is often considered.

All doorways in the entrance room are preferably designed in the same way - the interior will look solid.

Location features and door masking

They are designed in several different ways, sliding structures are preferable - this solution will not take up too much space, since with constant walking back and forth they are unlikely to be closed. From the door to the corridor, the kitchen can be completely abandoned, and the rest - to move. One should not unnecessarily abuse the partitions in the living room - they only separate the sleeping place, the study room, if it is not possible to place them in closed rooms.

Door masking is done by gluing, painting in the color of the walls - so they will become less noticeable without disturbing the overall picture. It is interesting to look stylized under the doors of cabinets, they are painted fantasy patterns. Sometimes they are a continuation of the picture depicted on the wall - this way the space expands, it becomes more alive, especially if you draw a forest, the sea, a sunny lawn, a panoramic window and mountain peaks behind it. Mirror doors are an excellent move, they visually expand the room, even if they are only partially decorated with a mirror. Wall mural, large posters on the doors are used as an addition to the overall style of the interior.

At any location of the inputs and outputs, the space should look whole - it is unacceptable to “tear off” individual elements from the general design of the hall.

Parallel

With a parallel, “through” arrangement of the doorways, it is convenient to move from one to another room, but the passage does not become cluttered. "Pockets" on both sides of the exits can be fenced off by screens, curtains on the electrocarnis, and furniture, forming peculiar separate rooms. You should also consider the option of placing the rack, cabinet along one wall, dining area, sofa, TV - about the remaining three. When there is a passage to the loggia, a warmed balcony, then a sleeping place is placed there, an office.

Diagonal

This option is considered the most unfortunate - you have to try hard to conveniently place upholstered furniture, a TV, a coffee table, any wardrobes for things. But to expand the space here is easily possible with the help of glazed or light openings. A room with a staircase in a private house most often also “suffers” from diagonal passages - two or three doors are in different places, plus also access to the second floor. When the staircase and the main entrance are parallel, it is easy to separate them with a screen of any height, creating relative privacy.

Adjacent

This arrangement is most advantageous, since it only takes one corner away from the living room, which, if desired, is separated by a partition, a screen, a single curtain, floor vases, or simply finished in a different way. For a classic interior fit double or single. When a bedroom and a nursery are located in adjacent rooms, the organization of high-quality sound insulation is paramount. Zoning space is usually not difficult - almost everything here can be done as well as with a single large door.

Two doors on one side

Both entrances are on the same wall, which allows you to effectively use the entire room. Between them they place a decorative imitation of a fireplace, shelves for books, photos or paintings in frames, a plasma TV that is mounted high on the wall. If distance permits, here you can put a narrow folding sofa, and a TV - opposite. A symmetrical arrangement along the middle axis will be as convenient as possible here, but can get bored quickly - to prevent this from happening, the interior is “diluted” with some bright elements of decor.

Carry doorway - create a separate room

To transfer an element, a separate project is most often required - if the wall is bearing, thoughtlessly demolishing it, even if partial, threatens to collapse the ceiling. This is especially dangerous if the neighbors above or below have chosen the same method of improvement. Sometimes it may be necessary to reinforce the doorway with metal structures or concrete columns. Most often, the door is transferred from the living room to the kitchen, clean part of the wall, creating an open combined space of the room and hallway. In the three-room "vest", when it is necessary to completely separate one room, an additional thin wall-partition is erected - the entrance hall "loses" one of the three doors, and the exit from the bedroom is connected by a narrow corridor to the hallway.

Furniture placement

If the space is completely symmetrical, then the furniture can be arranged symmetrically. In a large hall - an area of 20 square meters. m., welcome island arrangement of the sofa, dining area in the center. This is especially convenient if there are more than two doors. If the room is small, it is better not to overload it. Ideal - folding, sliding, convertible furniture, which, if necessary, easy to fold, put in a corner.

Large-sized objects are placed near the walls, where there are no entrances and exits, more compact ones along the rest. It is better to buy the furniture immediately with a set in a single style, for a large living room you will need a sofa, a table of sufficient size to fit the whole family, a wall-mounted cabinet or a shelving unit. If there is not enough space, then instead of a closet, they use narrow hinged shelves with light, a folding or glass table, and chairs.

If possible, you should not put sofas, armchairs, chairs back to any of the doors - the people sitting on them will not be psychologically comfortable.

Decoration, decor and lighting

For confined spaces, it is preferable to have bright, warm lighting, a simple, bright, mostly monotonous finish. The color scheme may not differ from other rooms, but due to the abundance of doors, even the vast hall seems to be much smaller, because dark accents are used to a minimum, like any volume decor.

Best colors for a sitting room:

  • white,
  • sunny yellow
  • light orange
  • beige,
  • cream,
  • silver,
  • blue,
  • pink.

These colors are suitable for walls, ceiling, floor, but the ceilings should be at least a couple of tones lighter than the floor. For the floor in the entrance hall, it is better to use wear-resistant coating - carpets will quickly wear off, wear out. If it is decided to add bright contrasts, then it is recommended to paint one of the walls in burgundy, turquoise, orange, gray-purple, leaving the rest light. The decor is used as little as possible - if there is a lot of it, the hall looks overly cluttered. “Heavy” window decoration is not welcome, light blinds or light curtains are preferable.

There are often problems with light in the passageway, especially if the window is only one and small, or there are none at all. The lighting is preferably spot - around the perimeter of the hall, central - in the middle of the ceiling, local - above each zone, if any. The central chandelier should be flat, compact, not clutter up the middle of the room, do not underestimate the ceiling.

Any fragile items should not be placed in the middle of the road from room to room, this is especially important if there are young children in the house, and elderly visually impaired people.

Conclusion

Having a walk-through room is not the worst thing that happens in an apartment. With the right approach, this space has every chance of becoming the most comfortable, beautiful, and cozy. It is important to make it whole, harmonious, well fitting into the general concept of an apartment or house. If self-accomplishment of the above room causes some difficulties, then you should contact the professionals involved in interior design and have experience in the design of just such "uncomfortable" places.
